Apart from the large volume, the facade uses the construction method of fixed ceramic panels and the facade of the main building is made of carmine ceramic rods. It's an original construction method. After many times of meticulous 1:1 experiment, the construction technology integrates complex functions in a simple way, hence creating transparent effects of the curtain wall and a unique and warm image of gift box. However, the construction method poses challenges on lights arrangement and adjustment on site.
The design was inspired by the geometrical sculptures of Golden Ratio and Mangiarotti. The form is interactive, offering the user different combinations. The design consists of four coffee tables of different sizes and a pouf lined up around the cube form, which is a lighting element. 25 Nano is an artistic light instrument to represent ephemeral and permanence, birth and death. Working with Spring Pool Glass Industrial CO., LTD, whose vision is building a systematic glass recycle loop for a sustainable future, 25 Nano chose the relatively fragile bubble as a medium in contrast with solid glass to embody the idea. In the instrument, light shimmers through life cycles of the bubble, projecting rainbow-like color and shadows to the environment, creating a dreamy atmosphere around the user.
Dava is developed for open space offices, schools and universities where quiet and concentrated work phases are important. The modules reduce acoustic and visual disturbances. Due to its triangular shape, the furniture is space efficient and allows a variety of arrangement options. The materials of Dava are WPC and wool felt, both of which are biodegradable. A plug-in system fixes the two walls to the tabletop and underlines simplicity in production and handling.
'Gorge' is a coffee table with a shape of a gorge. Designing it, Designer 'Ramei Keum' strived to put it in a form so that elements composing of a table such as a top board and legs may become one element, not individual elements. The shape of a gorge folded in a V shape itself plays a structural role of supporting the top board of the table, and plays a role of holding/ keeping magazines or books as well as completing an aesthetic form of the table.
1x3 is inspired by interlocking burr puzzles. It is both - a piece of furniture and a brain teaser. All parts stay together without the need of any fixtures. The interlocking principle involves only sliding movements giving a very fast assembly process and making 1x3 appropriate for frequent change of place. The level of difficulty depends not on dexterity but mostly on spatial vision. Instructions are provided in case the user needs help. The name - 1x3 is a mathematical expression that represents the logic of the wooden structure - one element type, three pieces of it.
