Lina has been developed for Elon Design Furniture, based on research on tubular metal armchairs, which started being designed in the Bauhaus. To warm things up in a Brazilian way, wood was included as part of the structure. The metal continued to be used in the connections for many reasons: to reinforce fragile points, to make the serial production easier, to facilitate any repairs, to create an unique visual signature and a solid but light structure. As a result, Lina Armchair stands out for its sophistication, comfort, elegant combination of materials, and attention to details.
Chiglia is a sculptural table whose shapes recall those of a boat, but they also represent the heart of the entire project. The concept has been studied in virtue of a modular development starting from the basic model proposed here. The linearity of the dovetail beam combined with the possibility of the vertebrae to slide freely along it, guarantee the stability of the table, allow it to develop in length. These features make it easily customizable to the destination environment. It will be enough to increase the number of vertebrae and the length of the beam to obtain the desired dimensions.
Goccia is a container that decorates the home with soft shapes and warm white lights. It’s the modern domestic hearth, the meeting point for a happy hour with friends in the garden or the coffee table to read a book in the living room. It’s a set of ceramic containers suitable to contain the warm winter blanket, as well as seasonal fruit or a fresh summer drink bottle immersed in ice. The containers hang from the ceiling with a rope and can be positioned at the desired height. They are avaible in 3 sizes, the largest of which can be completed with a solid oak top.
Arca is a monolith trapped in a net, a chest that floats adrift along with its contents. The lacquered mdf container, enclosed in an ideal net made of solid oak, is equipped with three total extraction drawers that can be organized according to various needs. The rigid solid oak net has been modeled to accommodate the thermoformed glass plates, to obtain an organic shape that simulates a mirror of water. The entire cupboard rests on a transparent methacrylate support to emphasize the ideal floating.
The F, a paradoxically lava stone side table, combines the flat and smooth table surface of mechanical production and the base of the natural primordial stone at the bottom. Modern design is about industrialization which means standard or consistent. And yet, F of standard machined form, borrowed from the industrial stool, F clip, has to be weighed with a primitive lava stone from nature, to keep itself firm. It shows the different states of volcano stone on one design, combining mechanical aesthetics with natural beauty.
The armchairs of the iperbolica collection are aesthetic figures that produces effect capable of goig beyond ordinary perceptions and current opinions of form. They are excessive, extravagant, dilated: in short, hyperbolic. They go beyond the confines of the engineered construction of the object and experimentation on the material. These armchairs are not merely roomy, comfortable seats with backrests and arms, but also an attempt to seek a precise identity within a dialectic relationship between material and form, image and object, function and decoration.
