CaoHeJing KeHui

The concept of One Cube – One Reflection was the source of inspiration in façade lighting of a 20-floor commercial office tower in CaoHeJing, Shanghai. With the use of specialized, 360 degree LED projectors strategically mounted at the base of each bay, the lighting design team produced a glowing lit latticework of squares, making the building’s aluminum facade appear as if it has been lit from within. A blue-lit band, positioned on the 10th floor, halves the design into 2, enhancing the concept of reflection, as the lighting effects at the top part of the building mirrors that of the bottom.

Bob

The Bob Lamp re-imagines the bold, expressive and garish affectations of postmodernism through the authentic re-investment in ‘real’ materials. Made from hand cast concrete with recycled glass aggregates its weight, size and form allows it to interchange between a small table lamp, heavy enough to withstand an accidental bump and a pendant fixture, light enough to be hung from the ceiling. As a table lamp the wavy base is a series of legs allowing for the cord to pass between, when hung the waves become a crown. The gold half-round bulb does double duty as light source and lampshade.
