Where Does Design What Source Featured Products and Projects?

We feature furniture and lighting designs, products and projects. Most of the furniture and lighting designs, products and projects featured on Design What are selected from among the winners of the A' Design Award & Competition, with a special focus on winners in Furniture Design and Lighting Products and Fixtures Design. We select most projects from the A' Design Award Winners Registry.

We prominently feature winners of the A' Design Award because the A' Design Award is a highly respected meritocratic competition in which winning designs are judged on pre-established, public evaluation criteria through an anonymous, academic, blind peer-review process. Moreover, nominated works are evaluated anonymously, and jurors are bound by their juror agreement, which makes the accolade fairer and more impartial. Likewise, the preliminary jury phase helps entrants present their work in the best possible light, and submissions are standardized so that entries are compared on merit rather than on presentation before the main judging. Following jury voting, votes are checked for anomalies, scores are standardized and normalized, and results are ranked meritocratically. Because the A' Design Award is meritocratic, ethical and fair, Design What relies on the winners of the A' Design Award to feature good design with confidence.
