Obsidian Wing

Obsidian Wing is a lounge chair designed for contemporary homes, art spaces and boutique offices. The chair is inspired by the form of bird wings, translating wing bone structure and tension lines into furniture. A wing shaped backrest wraps around the seated person and gives a sense of shelter and support. High performance plastic is used as the base material, shaped through 3D printing and precise computer controlled machining. The surface has a matte black finish with inlaid metal silver lines. Obsidian Wing measures 550 by 650 by 800 millimetres.

Khoy is a sofa bed designed for homes with limited space. Khoy converts from a sofa into a full bed using a tested dual foam mattress. In sofa mode, the seating surface is a 150 mm medium firm support foam layer. In bed mode, a 40 mm memory foam layer forms a softer sleeping surface that adapts to the body. The modular backrest can be moved, removed or used as armrests, and each change of mode needs no tools. The covers are made of recycled polyester and are removable and machine washable. The foam parts are vacuum compressed for flat pack shipping.

Chifuyu is a low center table designed for living rooms. The form was inspired by an image of two pieces of leather suspended in mid air. A single curving piece of leather shapes the surface and creates a sense of floating. Perforated metal supports the curve and made the complex three dimensional shaping possible. The table measures 950 millimetres in width, 950 millimetres in depth and 280 millimetres in height. The light and suspended appearance is intended to add an extraordinary note to everyday interiors.

Bam Klein is a sofa inspired by the topological form of the Klein bottle. Round Arched Table is a quick assembly table inspired by the round arches of European architecture. Flou is a console table made of cast resin. Each console is composed of three to four resin slabs that form the legs, the top and the tie members. The slabs are cast in custom molds, then routed, grooved and assembled with simple joinery for stability. Factory remnants are preserved inside the resin, and tinted variations are also produced. The translucent material shifts between clear and hazy as light and shadow change. The minimal form measures 1600 mm in width, 400 mm in depth and 750 mm in height.
